Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld Ad for Microsoft

If you weren’t aware, Microsoft is pumping $300 million into a massive ad campaign to attempt to counter the highly effective “I’m a Mac” Apple ads. Their choice of Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates teaming up sounded interesting, but thier first ad is a bit confusing. It’s cool to see them kicking around a mall together, but I’m not sure what I’m supposed to take away from this. Thoughts?

One Response to Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld Ad for Microsoft

For someone who is not a loyalist to apple or pc, I would say it does a good job of showing MS as something other than just software and computers. Also, using Jerry Seinfeld seems logical to me because you expect him to make fun of something as confusing as people say Windows are. He doesn’t do that in the commercial, rather he is instead confused that Bill Gates is doing something simple like buying shoes in a silly store.

Did it have a $300 million impact? Um..I doubt it.
